Robotics are one of the “blur areas” that truly fascinates me. Not “robotics” in the “assembly line, get tasks done” sense, but robotics in the “remember the robots of science fiction that interacted autonomously with humans” sense. Yea, I know, I’m really just a kid at heart about all of this HCI stuff.

So, it is with great pleasure that I’m announcing that Cynthia Breazeal, Associate Professor of Media Arts and Sciences, and Director of the Personal Robotics group at MIT, has signed on to speak at Blur. Dr. Breazeal is recognized as a pioneer and expert in social robotics and human robot interaction, and it’s an honor to have her on board as a speaker.

We’ll be posting an abstract for Dr. Breazeal’s talk shortly. Stay tuned….and don’t forget to register.
